Batangas: Hacienda Darasa

Hacienda Darasa, Tanauan, Batangas ~ January 2014

Date visited: 04 January 2014
Location: Tanauan City, Batangas

I spotted this on Metrodeal, and it seemed like a great bargain (Php999 instead of Php1990 for 2D/1N Superior Room for 2pax) so I immediately purchased it then made reservations last December. The fastest way to get a reply is to call the mobile number indicated in the listing.

How to get there: We took the Lipa/Tanuan bus at the Lucena Liner terminal in Cubao along EDSA, in front of Nepa Q-Mart. Fare was Php104/each. The bus was comfy enough, and the trip took about 2 hrs, with a pit stop in Turbina, Calamba. You can get off right in front of the Hacienda Darasa entrance, but we opted to get off at Waltermart first to buy some snacks. Then we took a jeep (any jeep heading past Waltermart will do) to HD.

At the entrance, you go past the gate then straight ahead on an unpaved road, then a paved driveway heading to the main building. There are signs pointing to the pools, hotel, etc so you won’t get lost 🙂

At reception, we told the receptionist we had a reservation via Metrodeal, and we were asked to fill out a form while she yelled at someone on the 2nd floor if a room was available. Considering I had made reservations several weeks in advance, this was a bit of a red flag o_O But I didn’t want to ruin our vacation, so I just walked around a bit taking pics while they prepared our room.

Also, I asked if their coffee shop was still serving lunch, since it was already 2pm. The manager (?) said they were, and asked if we would be eating right now (!). I smiled and said maybe in about 30 minutes or so, as we were very tired from the trip and the heat.

After being informed our room was ready, we followed the receptionist up the stairs.

Our room on the 2nd floor had 2 twin beds and a daybed on the wall near the door. The airconditioner was located in an awkward corner under the window, so that night I slept on the daybed as I like to sleep with a light breeze blowing on me. Otherwise, the room was clean, as was the bathroom. The airconditioner had half its vents broken, so I propped them up with one of the broken ones. They provide towels, tissue & 1 small bar of soap, so bring your own toiletries. There’s also a vanity table, 2 chairs & a large mirror in the corner near the window, and a closet with hangers (thumbs up for this) next to the daybed. They also provide 2 small complimentary bottles of water. No fridge or kettle, but you can get hot/cold water from a dispenser in the coffee shop, and buy cold drinks there. We just put our soda/water bottles on a chair in front of the AC 🙂

After resting a bit, we went down for lunch (more on that later) and roamed around taking photos 🙂

More photos in my next entry! 😀
