Tagaytay: Tagaytay City Cheat Sheet

Here’s a general compilation of tips I learned from our December 2013 trip 🙂

How to get there: Coming from Cubao, you can try the Philtranco terminal on Edsa, sometimes Tagaytay-bound buses pass there. Or you can go directly to Pasay for Nasugbu- or Tagaytay-bound buses. You can also catch a Dasma/Palapala bus, then get on a Tagaytay-bound bus at Robinsons Dasma. But I recommend the 3rd option only as a last resort, as you will pass thru what seems like every town in Cavite.

Where to stay: For this trip, we stayed at Las Ventanas because we had a voucher, but I still prefer Keni Po 🙂

Where to eat: Our favorites are Java Jazz, Mushroom Burger & Bag of Beans. But only because we’re on a strict budget 🙂 I’d love to try a lot of other restaurants in the area, though 🙂

Transportation: There are jeeps everywhere, so no need for a trike or car unless you’ll be venturing far from the main roads. If in doubt, contact your hotel/inn/restaurant and ask them if you need to take a trike or private vehicle.

How to get back to Manila: Catch a bus to Pasay, then take the MRT or LRT. It’s faster and cheaper. But if you have a lot of bags/packages, better take a cab as the trains can get VERY packed even during non-peak hours.
